Prepare for the new CHED D - coming September 3!.
The single CHED D document on high-risk non-animal food and feed (HRFNAO) will be published on Tuesday 3 September. This change unifies import notifications for both European Union (EU) and Rest of the World (RoW) countries. Be sure to read on!
Preparation for the transition to CHED D
Make sure you are prepared for the CHED D change:
- Ensure that all draft CHED D documents are submitted before the transition deadline of 12:01am on Tuesday, 3 September.
Please note: changes to these draft versions will not be possible after switching to a single CHED D document.
- Any new CHED D documents submitted after the transition can be amended in the same way as before.
- The switchover will take place at 12:01am on Tuesday UK time, 3 September.
Changes to the new CHED D
Several important changes have been made to the new CHED D document:
- For the first time, traders based outside the EU (RoW traders) will receive notifications about the possibility of being called for an inspection.
- There will be a new question as to whether the consignment is being transported via a carrier using the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS).
- If a carrier uses GVMS and 'Yes' is selected in this question, carriers carrying shipments on the GVMS route will be informed via GVMS if their cargo has been called to a border crossing for SPS inspection.
- If a trader does not know whether his carrier uses a GVMS, he must check with the carrier so that he can get an accurate answer to this question in the CHED document.
- In response to user feedback, the contacts page has been improved to make it clearer where to add contacts.
Information on HRFNAO imports from non-EU countries is available from GOV UK.
