Updated POAO SPS transit notifications!
Updating POAO SPS transit notifications!.
From 30 April 2024, for overland POAO shipments entering or leaving the UK (England, Scotland and Wales) or imported POAO shipments terminating CTC traffic in the UK, the person in charge of the load (PRFL) and the five designated contacts in the Import Products, Animals, Food and Feed System (IPAFFS) were notified on the IPAFFS dashboard and by email or SMS if SPS checks were required. From 3 September there will be changes!
In the case of land movements
Entry controls will only be notified by GVMS.
- From 3 September 2024, for POAO goods in transit entering the UK via carriers with GVMS will no longer be notified by IPAFFS. Drivers will need to check with GVMS that their cargo has been called for SPS inspection at a specific BCP.
Exit controls will continue to be notified via IPAFFS messages.
- For POAO goods in transit leaving the UK, the system will remain the same. There will be no change and you will still be notified by IPAFFS if you are called for inspection, in the usual way.
For Common Transit Convention (CTC) services
For CTC movements ending in the UK, only GVMS messages will be available.
- For POAO CTC movements terminating in the UK via carriers with GVMS, from 3 September, the driver will need to check with GVMS that their load has been called for SPS inspection. You will not be notified by IPAFFS.
For POAO transit movements (land and CTC movements) not using GVMS carriers.
Goods transported via non-GVMS carriers will continue to be notified via IPAFFS messages.
- If you are transporting POAO goods and your carriers do not use GVMS (i.e. you selected "no" to the question in CHED "Will the transport use Goods Vehicle Movement Service GVMS?"), the system will remain the same. You will still be notified by IPAFFS if you are called for an SPS inspection, as before.
